How to prepare your website for a directory listing
Prepare a public URL, useful title, description and sharing image so visitors can understand your website before clicking.
Use a public HTTPS URL, a recognizable name, a specific description and a useful sharing image. Preview the information and correct it before publishing.
Choose the exact destination
Use the page you want a visitor to reach. Frontlane removes common tracking parameters and fragments, but different website paths remain distinct listings. Check the hostname and path carefully. Public website URLs and X profiles are supported; private addresses, credentials in URLs, link shorteners and chat invitations are not appropriate listing destinations.
Explain the website in one or two sentences
A useful description tells readers what the product does and who it helps. For example, a scheduling tool might explain that it lets independent tutors share availability and accept lesson requests. Frontlane allows up to 280 characters. The product name can be up to 80 characters. Choose a category that reflects the main purpose rather than a category you hope will receive more clicks.
Set the website’s own sharing information
Frontlane checks the public page for a site name or title, a description and a shared image. It can also use a favicon when a suitable shared image is unavailable. Keep your page title, description and Open Graph sharing information accurate on the destination website. Changing those tags does not automatically rewrite an already-published Frontlane listing.
Check the preview instead of assuming it is correct
Some websites block server access, lack useful metadata or provide images in unsupported formats. Frontlane does not take a screenshot of the website. Its preview uses an available PNG, JPEG, WebP or ICO image within size limits. If the lookup fails, the form opens manual fields. Edit generic or incomplete suggestions before publishing.
Keep ownership and image rights clear
Submit a website you own or are authorized to represent. Automated metadata lookup does not verify ownership, safety or quality. Owners can optionally verify control of their domain through a DNS TXT record. The owner dashboard then allows profile edits and a PNG logo upload; an uploaded owner logo takes priority over the automatically fetched image.
Review what becomes public
The URL, name, description, category and available image appear in the directory. Do not put private contact details, credentials or confidential information in public listing text. Read the listing rules and privacy notice before submitting. A public listing can help people discover a website, but it does not promise search rankings, AI citations, visitors or sales.
